Performance, Power & Simplicty – RJX Flybarless Rotor Systems Have It All. Since inception, RC helicopters have used the mechanical flybar for a source of stability, but this has come at a cost of performance, agility & power. Flybarless rotor systems end this once and for all, introducing a simplified & clean setup that provides cutting edge performance - allowing you to truly unlock the potential of your RC helicopter.
CNC Machined from 7075 aluminum, the RJX rotor system replaces your current upper rotor system, giving your helicopter a clean, simplified look that is easy to setup & adjust. Available in multiple sizes (250, 450, 500, 600 & 700), RJX has you covered when it comes to upgrading your current helicopter to a flybarless syetm – all you need is a digital flybar, such as the Skookum SK360, and you’re set to go!
By upgrading to a flybarless rotor system, you gain several advantages over a conventional flybar system, allowing you to fly your helicopter harder than you could ever dream of before. With a flybarless rotor system, you reduce mechanical/aerodynamic drag, thus giving you more power, longer flight times, and a faster cyclic response – attributes that you will truly see and feel.
Adding to this is a simplified rotor system that is devoid of multiple linkages, parts & other mechanics that a standard mechanical flybar system utilizes. This not only gives your helicopter a cleaner look, but makes it easier to rebuild, and reduces the number of parts to replace, thus saving you time & money in the event of a crash.
With a flybarless rotor system, the old mechanical flybar system is replaced by a “Digital Flybar,” such as the Skookum SK360. With a “digital flybar,” you now have the ability to fine tune the way your helicopter flies – making it quick & agile, or smooth & stable, depending on how you like to fly. These tuning options are not only more precise, but are much easier than previous mechanical systems, which require adjustments of linkage rods – a tedious task at best.
For greater 3D performance with more power and longer flight times, flybarless is the only way to go, and with this RJX Flybarless Rotor System, you have the perfect upgrade to truly make your helicopter perform!

What Do I Need to Convert to Flybarless?
In order to convert your helicopter to a flybarless rotor system, you will 1st need a comparable flybarless rotor system, as seen above, along with a “Digital Flybar.” Several manufacturers produce digital flybar systems that take the place of your previous mechanical flybar - our most popular unit being the Skookum SK360, which you can find at the bottom of the page.
The Skookum SK360 is a “2 Axis” digital flybar, meaning it controls the aileron & elevator (cyclic) functions of your helicopter, but does not incorporate a tail gyro as some other “3 Axis” systems do. A “2 Axis” system, such as the Skookum 360, allows you to use your current tail gyro, and the SK360 can be full programmed & setup via your computer, or can be setup/adjusted by the SK-LCD unit, which can be transported with you to the flying field due to its very small size.
Can I Fly my Helicopter Without a Digital Flybar if I Convert to a Flybarless Rotor System?
No – it’s not recommended to fly your helicopter without a digital flybar if you have a flybarless rotor system. The helicopter will not only perform poorly, but will be incredibly hard to fly, as the mechanical flybar (or digital flybar), brings a large amount of stability & dampening to your RC helicopter.
I Have a Standard Mechanical Flybar Rotor System – Can I Upgrade to a Digital Flybar and Keep the Mechanical Flybar?
No – a mechanical and digital flybar cannot be used together, so you will need to convert to a flybarless rotor system if you want to use a digital flybar, such as the SK360. Without converting to a flybarless rotor system, you lose all the advantages a flybarless rotor system offers, so if you want to upgrade to a digital flybar, the only way to go is flybarless.
Do I Need to Upgrade My Helicopter to a Flybarless Rotor System?
No – but, if you’re looking for more power, greater 3D performance & longer flight times, amongst several other key benefits, upgrading to a flybarless rotor system is the only way to go.
Can I Use a Digital Flybar other than the Skookum SK360?
Yes – the Skookum SK360 is but 1 option of several flybarless rotor systems available on the market today.
Do I Need Special Servos for a Flybarless Rotor System?
No – Digital or Analog servos will work fine with any flybarless rotor system, but digital servos are preferred, and you want to make sure your servos have adequate speed and torque for the best performance you can achieve with your helicopter.
My Helicopter Flies Fine – Why Should I Upgrade?
Flybarless rotor systems offer multiple advantages, as discussed above – with a low parts count & reduced mechanical/aerodynamic drag, your helicopter will simply fly better, react quicker, and you will have the ability to fine tune your helicopter in ways a mechanical flybar system would never allow. Add to the fact that you will no longer need to fuss with complicated linkage adjustments & tedious rebuilds, a flybarless main rotor system just makes perfect sense.
Note: Please be aware that the "Large Inner Diameter" Thrust Race will need to be "seated" into the grip with a small application of force via an appropriate tool. The thrust race will "click" when seated.
Product Note: Swashplate shown in picture is NOT INCLUDED, and is for illustration purposes only - if you are in need of a swashplate, you will need to purchase one, along with the parts mentioned above.
Rotor System Comes Unassembled - medium thread lock is recommended on ALL metal to metal parts. |
